I landed in nonprofit finance and administration by chance and decided to stay put. Why? Well, I'll tell you! My analytical skills allow me to understand the nuances of organizations and my wide-reaching and varied roles have taught me to not lose sight of the bigger picture. Finance - and operations - are the backbone of organizations so I get to see how organizations work through and through. 

I enjoy strategizing around processes - efficiency means different things at different places and I’ve learned that “cheaper and faster” are not always better. It's more about communication, relationships, and a shared understanding not just of mission and values, but of how information flows and is used. I am a huge advocate for weaving finance throughout organizations, which helps to make it more accessible and participatory.
